The representatives of Claims Conference visited Pančevo

On Wednesday, March 11, Jewish Community of Pančevo visited the director of JOINT for Serbia Mr. Israel Sabag, representatives of the Claims Conference Mr. Charles Rose and Mr. Markus Feurstein, coordinator of the Claims Conference for Serbia Mrs. Sunčica Prlinčević, social worker of the Jewish Community of Belgrade Miss Lea Montijas and Mr. Zoran Mevorah from Federation of Jewish Communities in Serbia. The aim of the visit was to learn them about the provision of social and health care for survivors of the Holocaust in Pančevo. The meeting was attended by some of the survivors who receive financial compensation from the Claims and several community's members. In addition, the guests were acquainted with the community work and the main problems in relation to the financial issues, restitution, "Stratište" memorial, cooperation with city authorities, etc. To Mr. Sabag was given as a present a publication for children about Jewish holidays and few catalogs of the exhibitions done by  JCP.
